Ever have challenges reading and understanding the Old Testament? Well so do most (all?) of us! This class will provide an overview or framework of how to look at the Old Testament as a whole as well as its individual books. The emphasis will be on how the Old Testament presents a forward-looking message pointing to the then-coming Messiah. While this study will not study each book in depth, you will gain an appreciation for them and the overall theological message presented. You will learn how to read and understand what the authors want us to see in how they tell their story, how different genres work and what that means for how we understand them and how the Old Testament hangs together. The ultimate goal is for you to come away from our time together inspired and awed by the beauty of God’s word and worshipping Him! Come join us as we learn how to read the Bible better together!
